The nose develops aromas of juniper berries and citrus fruits. The palate is silky and balanced, the attack is frank with a delicate finish with aromas of candied lemon and yuzu.
The highly respected winemaker Jean-Marie Chaland founded the Domaine de Sainte-Barbe in 2000 in Vire-Clesse. This 9-hectare domaine has a classic production of Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot Noir. This vineyard has always been managed and tilled without synthetic herbicides, it was certified organic since 2003. Most of the vines are over 50 years old. Wines are fruity, revealing great finesse.
